In true PNW fashion, Logan, Gabrielle, and their son Wes had the most dreamy foggy background for their Mount Rainier elopement. The family wore shades of blue and matched the moody mountains surrounding them as these two said “I do” on a cliffside overlooking infinity.

Rainier Elopement in the Clouds
Logan and Gabrielle hiked up towards Mt. Rainier and into the clouds. The landscape around them was dramatic and moody as the cloud cover never left, but was constantly shifting throughout their entire session. One minute you couldn’t see the hill behind them and the next it would peek out from behind the fog, but only for a moment. Gabrielle and Logan shared their day with their son, who was bundled in his cozy Patagonia fleece to keep out the chilly mountain wind.

Mt. Rainier is one of the tallest mountains in the United States. It stands at 14,411 feet, dwarfing the otherwise dramatic jagged peaks around it. It is so tall, the mountain creates its own weather. Clouds catch on its miles-high cliffsides and collect rain in significantly higher quantities than the lands nearby. As a result, Mt. Rainier has some of the most luscious green valleys and thick forests of anywhere you could ever visit. In the summer, the wildflowers are abundant and in the winter, the lodges become buried under hundreds of feet of snow. Knowing the extremes Mt. Rainier will go through each year, this foggy day was pretty tame in comparison.
Family Photos on Mount Rainier
Logan and Gabrielle shared the most laid back and sweet elopement day with their son, and it was such a joy to watch this little family come together and have fun running around in the clouds. Gabrielle’s floral dress was gorgeous and perfectly matched her boots and tasseled blanket that Logan wrapped around her shoulders. Elopements can be anywhere on the spectrum from casual dress to elaborate formal wear. Gabrielle and Logan found the sweet spot of comfort and beauty that perfectly matched their natural surroundings.

Placing their son on his shoulders, Logan laughed and played. He and Gabrielle could hardly keep a straight face as they ran down trails, stoping to peek through the clouds. The landscape around them changed constantly. They truly shared a mountain elopement experience. This Rainier elopement evening ended with a hike back down to Sunrise with headlamps and puffy jackets, the foggy surroundings turning dark in a way that made you feel like you were the only people in the world. A truly unique place to say “I do.”
