We met up with these two in one of the best climbing areas in the North Cascades. These mountains are otherwise referred to as the American Alps, due to their steep and rugged rocky peaks and glaciated mountains. This particular area of the North Cascades has a long and rich history of climbing and first ascents dating back to the early 1900s, long before the North Cascades Highway provided easy access to this region.

Sean and Elaine had a specific route in mind that they wanted to climb for their elopement. It would take us to the highest summit in the Liberty Bell group (pictured below). But before hiking up to the base of the climb, they did a first look at a gorgeous spot right off the road. The soft morning light looked so beautiful as we gazed up at our objective for the day.

After the mini first look photo sesh, we changed into hiking clothes, scarfed some lunch, and began the steep trek up to the base of the climb. A couple hours later, we arrived! We hung our packs in the trees in hopes no Mountain Goat would steal them, roped up, and began climbing. The view never stopped as we climbed three pitches up to a perfect perch overlooking the surrounding mountains.

We made a quick scramble to the true summit to soak in the views for bit, and then returned to the spot where they planned to exchange their vows. Surrounded by these rugged peaks in which they’ve spent so much time exploring together, they said their vows. And we happily snapped away at the insanely epic scene 🙂 As the sun disappeared, we rappelled back down to our packs and ended the day hiking back by headlamp. It was a full value adventure elopement full of epic views, exciting adventure, and two beautiful people who couldn’t be more perfect for each other. We won’t soon forget it!
