Discovering Hidden Gems in Moab
When we first started planning, I quickly realized that the desert held a special place in Laura and Josh’s hearts. They had both been to Moab a few times over the years and absolutely loved everything about it. But here’s the catch—they had never been there together! So, what better way to make their elopement day unforgettable than to explore this amazing place for the first time as a couple? We quickly put together a plan for the day, but as I chatted more with Laura and Josh, I discovered that there were still so many hidden gems they hadn’t seen yet! That’s when we decided to switch things up and incorporate some exciting off-roading into their elopement adventure. They rented a badass jeep and were ready to hit the trails!
We kicked off the day with the most breathtaking sunrise at one of my all-time favorite spots. Laura stunned in her first dress (perks of eloping: you can rock two dresses if you want to! 😆), and Josh couldn’t take his eyes off her during their sweet first look. We spent the morning hiking around this incredible location, soaking in its beauty, before taking a little mid-day break to recharge.
In the afternoon, we regrouped and geared up for some serious jeeping action! We slowly made our way up the Shafer Trail, stopping at every viewpoint along the drive (trust me, there are loads of amazing sights!). Our next pit stop was Canyonlands, where we snapped more photos and took a breather. After that, we headed towards a nearby BLM land that boasted one of the most jaw-dropping views in all of Moab (according to me, at least! 😆). We embraced the final hour of sunlight there before Laura and Josh exchanged their heartfelt vows and rings, bringing an end to this incredible day. It truly was the best day ever, exploring it ALL. And the best part? Even though they had been to Moab before, all the spots we visited were new to them. They absolutely loved experiencing their beloved place from a fresh perspective.
