Eloping in the central cascade mountains
Can you believe this stunning winter elopement was planned in just 3 short weeks?! When Sam & Chase reached out to us about eloping near Seattle in March, we were so stoked to show them some of our favorite spots closer to home. Located about 30 minutes east of Seattle, the little town of North Bend (AKA Twin Peaks) is the perfect place to explore in late winter/early spring, with gushing waterfalls, mild temperatures, and minimal snowfall. While Mt. Rainier and the North Cascades are buried under snow well into July, many of these Central Cascade mountain trails are accessible year-round! As long as you don’t mind a little moody PNW rain on your wedding day, North Bend is an incredible shoulder season destination ❤️
A sunrise hike and vows among the trees
Sam and Chase’s elopement day kicked off at 5am with a sunrise hike to one of the best viewpoints in the Central Cascades. At the top, we witnessed a colorful sunrise followed by a little dusting of snow as the soon-to-be-newlyweds cuddled up and took in the views. While this trail is insanely popular during the summer months, we had it completely to ourselves on this winter weekend! After snapping some pics at the summit, we hiked back down the trail into the forest for an intimate vow exchange surrounded by tall trees. And to cap it all off, these two crazies celebrated with a polar plunge into the freezing lake! 🥶 It could not have been a more dreamy day here in the Washington mountains, with perfect lighting, no crowds, and no rain – we can’t wait to photograph more North Bend elopements in the future!
