From Enchanting Redwoods to Moody Coast: An Unforgettable Elopement
My very first elopement in the Redwoods did not disappoint. This was Kristina and Derrick’s first time visiting and the entire day Derrick kept repeating to himself “wow” because he really was so blown away from all the places we explored. He would catch himself saying it, and then he’d apologize for saying “wow” again but he really couldn’t help it. And I can’t say I blame him! There’s a reason why I love this area of the Southern Oregon Coast so much and hold it close to my heart.
We actually started off the day a few hours behind schedule. It’s a funny story that we can all laugh at now, but it turns out Kristina told the florist and her makeup artist the wrong date for the elopement! Luckily both vendors were incredible and were able to switch things up last minute and get her flowers and makeup done for the day. And all in all, running a little behind gave us extra time to let the morning fog pass.

We explored around the Redwoods for a couple of hours, wandering through the tall giants and admiring the beautiful light rays coming through the trees. After exploring the ancient forest, we hopped in our cars and headed out to the coast. Ahh I love the coast so much, it’s so much fun getting my couples running around on the beach and climbing all over the rock formations. The fog started to roll in as we hiked down to their ceremony spot (gotta love the unpredictable PNW weather 😝).
Kristina and Derrick had their sweet and simple ceremony with just me and the Pacific Ocean as their witness. Afterwards we climbed on down to the beach to end the day in true elopement fashion – popping champagne, drinking a few beers, and then a romantic first dance as the foggy PNW weather moved in.
