Colorado is full of old mining towns, but Ouray takes the cake as the most picturesque and well preserved of them all. Nestled amidst mountain cliffs and jagged peaks, it’s a remote destination, but a very worthy one. At the heart of town is the historic Beaumont Hotel. Built in 1886, this Victorian era masterpiece was recently restored to its original glory. Stepping into the hotel is like stepping back in time. We spent the first hour there just gawking at all the fine details.
Chris and Kyra brought a perfect balance of modern and vintage style to their wedding, which paired beautifully with this unique venue. Their rings were found at an antique shop and might even date back earlier than the hotel itself. And check out Kyra’s engagement ring! It looks like something a turn-of-the-century heiress would have worn. Her gorgeous gown and shoes complimented everything too, with just the right amount of flapper style and modern chic.
Aside from beautiful people in a beautiful setting, what made the photos even better were Chris and Kyra themselves, a couple of goofs who can have lots of fun – just look at some of the bridal party photos and you’ll know what we mean. We love shooting with couples that don’t take themselves too seriously; it always makes for the best photos.
From the outdoor ceremony with a mountainous backdrop, to the grand ballroom reception with ornate lamps and woodwork, this wedding was one we won’t soon forget. Enjoy the photos and see for yourself 😉
Thank you Chris and Kyra, we truly loved every moment of your wedding and are so happy we got to be a part of it!
