This epic Cape Cod Wedding was the perfect combination of a heart filled family gathering and glorified backyard bash. If you’ve ever looked at a map of Massachusetts, you’ll recognize the iconic shape of Cape Cod. It looks like an arm jutting out into the Atlantic, flexing its bicep. The people of Massachusetts love Cape Cod, and its likeness is seen all over bumper stickers and local business trucks. There are probably more weddings on Cape Cod every summer than anywhere else in the state. However, this was no ordinary Cape Cod wedding. If you’re going to do a Cape Cod wedding, take notes. This is how you do it.
A Glorified Backyard Bash at this Idyllic Cape Cod Wedding
This wedding had everything you’d want in a Cape Cod wedding. The wedding was held in Yarmouth/Barnstable, which is basically right on the bicep of the Cape. This area is bursting with that classic Cape Cod charm. The bride and groom got ready in the most beautiful Cape Cod style historic houses. Those wide plank pine floors really get us. Then it was off to Gray’s Beach for the first look. There’s a dock there that stretches far out into the marshes. It’s beautiful walking out onto the dock, but a bird’s eye view reveals the amazing, intricate network of marshland. We knew it was the perfect opportunity to fly the drone, and came away with some stunning images.

After the first look, it was off to the historic church for the ceremony. We normally aren’t huge fans of church ceremonies, but this church was really cool. It’s been meticulously restored, and the bride’s mom was actually a big part of helping make that happen. The arches, the organ, the candle chandeliers, the stained glass, the rich purple paint…we really enjoyed photographing this one. Then it was off to our final destination for the reception. We gotta give a big hats off to Cristen of Cristen & Co. Events for what she did to transform this area into the perfect glorified backyard bash. You couldn’t have asked for a prettier location, with ocean views and surrounded by a nature preserve. But it took some serious work to make this patch of land fit for a wedding party. We’ve worked with Cristen once before on another Boston wedding and her talent and energy for wedding planning and coordination is crazy impressive. As the night progressed, the dance party got wild and sweaty. Just the way we like it 😉 A sparkler exit was the perfect ending to this memorable Cape Cod wedding.
This wedding would not have been possible without all the talent of these incredible vendors:

They are loosely based in the Pacific Northwest, but travel for work and play throughout the western states.
