Valerie King
Foxpack elopement photographer
I'm Valerie 👋🏼
A bit about me – I’m a world travel lover, bookworm, proud cat mom to two adorable kitties, and started photographing adventure elopements in 2018! Before photographing elopements full time, I worked as a therapist, which taught me how to see connection and emotion on a deeper level, and now I get to bring that same heart into every elopement I photograph. My husband and I even eloped ourselves (a helicopter elopement in Alaska!) so I know firsthand how magical, freeing, and meaningful an elopement day can be when it’s crafted intentionally for you. When I’m not out exploring new places, you can usually find me curled up with a fantasy novel or rolling dice in a good nerdy D&D game.
A day that's all about you and the views
My goals are simple:
- Help you create a FUN and stress-free wedding day in a place that inspires you most.
- Take a boatload of mind-blowing images that capture who you two are as a couple and tell the story of your entire day.
- Do the above two things all while making you feel natural, comfortable, and your most authentic selves.
A bit about my photography – My work is a blend of authentic, candid storytelling and intentional guidance to help you feel natural and comfortable while still creating images that are beautiful and epic without feeling overly staged. I love capturing those in-between moments — the laughter, the quiet awe, the wind in your hair — that make your day uniquely yours.
"We can genuinely say we made an amazing friend that day and that she massively added to the experience.
“I don’t even know where to begin. Our experience with Valerie was exceptional. We booked a full day elopement with her and the whole process was such a dream. Initially I was worried about not having met her until the wedding day, feeling “seen” in the intimate moments, being in front of a camera, you name it. But as soon as she walked through the door on the wedding morning, we were at ease. Such a wonderful person. We can genuinely say we made an amazing friend that day and that she massively added to the experience. A wedding and a new friend in the same day! The actual planning was a breeze. I can get lost in the details, but having the full day put together with suggestions on locations, specific hikes, hotels, restaurants, etc made it feel so much easier. And the suggestions were incredible with backups in case of inclement weather. We ended up having to use our backup location because of rough conditions at Hurricane Ridge, but I think I preferred it in the end. It rained pretty consistently which I was worried about, but it made the experience even more memorable and intimate. The photos still turned out great despite messed up hair and makeup! Once we got the photos back. Jaw dropping. I never knew I could love photos of myself so much. It’s been several months and I still visit them daily. We were blown away. Everyone should get eloped… especially with Valerie! I think the photos speak for themselves!”
