A Smoky and Dreamy Mt Baker Elopement

A Smoky and Dreamy Mt Baker Elopement

These two exchanged private vows right in the middle of the rugged North Cascades just as the wildfires were calming down. Despite some lingering smoke, we still had an awesome time romping around this magical mountain paradise, enjoying the amazing views and few  celebratory beers 😉

A LITTLE HAZY BUT OH SO DREAMY: A MT BAKER ELOPEMENT DURING WILDFIRES

Jamie and Hanny’s elopement was the perfect example of combining an intimate adventure elopement with a more traditional wedding with family and friends. When I hopped on the phone with these two they just kept saying they wanted a super chill day in the mountains drinking beers with their two friends who actually introduced them to each other. I think we totally nailed it! They ended up having their proper wedding the weekend after we met up in Jamie’s sisters backyard (I saw the pics from that day and they are equally as amazing 😍) And I love this because they got that special intimate alone time in the beautiful outdoors with each other, and then a few days later got to celebrate with all their closest people.

Planning this little elopement was a bit tricky given there was so much smoke in the North Cascades from the wildfires that were further south. We talked about changing the day a few times, as well as the location, but the smoke ended up clearing out a little bit and the views opened up again! When we got out there, we pretty much had the whole hike to ourselves.

We hiked up to the top, took a break to cool down, cracked some beers, and then they changed into their wedding attire. Jamie and Hanny wanted to read private vows to each other before their weekend wedding and I was not expecting for them to get as emotional as they did but it was so sweet. Hanny was in tears, but then he couldn’t stop laughing at himself because of how choked up he was.

After vows and a ring exchanged we popped some champagne and Jamie made a dress change before heading back down for some snacks and a first dance. It really was such a fun day just hanging with the 4 of these guys and feeling like part of the crew!
