Colby and Amy decided to elope, and less than two months later stood on a sunny Oregon beach sharing their vows. Joined by their dog, these two committed their lived to each other and then walked out to a cliffside view to watch the sunset. This Oregon coast elopement boasts some of the most stunning cliffside images we have ever taken.

Oregon Coast Elopement in the Spring
Amy, Colby, and their dog Avla eloped on the Oregon coast last April during one of the most gorgeous spring days you’ll see in the Pacific Northwest. A mixture of sunlight and overcast, the day was clear and colorful. Amy and Colby began with a first look amongst the mossy trees. After their first look, we headed out to the beach for a simple but intimate ceremony. Throughout the entire day, these two couldn’t stop laughing! Their joy was contagious. During the ceremony, Avla stood by loyally in a very cute collar wreath made from eucalyptus leaves. We laughed at quite a few of this dog’s expressions while going through the images from this elopement. I hope you’ll enjoy them too!

Many of our couples have never been to a location prior to their elopement there. In this case, we chose the spot Amy and Colby had their ceremony and portrait session afterward. They were blown away by the steep cliffs, greenery, and rocky shoreline of this Oregon coast location. We were equally excited, and found ourselves laughing and smiling alongside this couple all day. Following a ceremony on the beach, Amy and Colby walked out to one of the steepest and most dramatic cliffside sunset locations we have ever photographed.
Oregon Coast Elopement on a Cliffside by Candlelight
The Oregon coast is known for being a dramatic rocky landscape. We found an outcropping that brought Colby and Amy to a viewpoint high above the crashing waves. Even from a distance, the heights here will makes your knees wobble. I don’t quite know what to compare the intense emotions these images illicit. The jagged rocky features and foaming shoreline look similar to the west coast of Ireland. It’s a wild kind of place, where you feel small and the weather is capable of wearing you down with time. It is humbling to stand in locations this immense.

Amy picked the perfect look for this location. The wind was not overbearing, but it also never stood still. Her flowy dress and hair give life to these stunning images. As the sun began to go down, Amy and Colby placed lights out along the cliffside and danced in the blue hues of sunset. We highly recommend LED candles for elopements. They eliminate the chance of fire hazards while also creating a warm glow as the evening gets darker. Colby and Amy were especially celebratory on this night because, in addition to getting married, Amy was pregnant. Before donning headlamps and leaving the coast, Amy and Colby shared a few bites of cake and laughed about what a fun day they had. This Oregon coast elopement was a truly beautiful adventure.
