During this Lake Tahoe Adventure Wedding, Chris and Abbey made sure to block out a solid two hours of their day to go on their own adventure with us. It was just as epic as we had hoped it’d be and more.
Lake Tahoe Wedding Portraits at Donner Summit
Chris and Abby asked us to photograph their Lake Tahoe wedding, but wanted to make sure they had time to sneak away together. They wanted time to soak in the beautiful scenery, snuggle in close for warmth, and get some epic photos to remember Lake Tahoe by. Obviously we were stoked.

Brandon and I were familiar with the area because we had been in the summer to climb. We knew that Donner Summit would be THE PERFECT spot for an adventure session with them, but we wanted to scout out the area in the snow. So the day before their wedding, we drove up there to see what it looked like. As we expected, it was stunning.
As you can imagine, it was very cold. We kept them moving and laughing to keep them warm and ran in every so often to throw Abby’s coat back on her. Also, Chris had no problem warming her up in her arms which made for some pretty adorable photos. After our elopement style adventure session, we jumped back in our cars and head to the reception.
Eloping isn’t for everyone. Some couples want all of their friends and family with them to celebrate. Planning a big chunk of time into your wedding day for an adventure session gives outdoorsy couples the opportunity for those epic elopement style photos. We highly recommend it for all couples!
