A day of exploring the North Cascades and Artist Point elopement scouting. The North Cascades have a rugged feel that’s breathtaking and perfect for adventure elopements.
Artist Point Elopement Scouting
One of our couples is flying to Washington at the end of December for a snowy winter elopement and asked for our help in picking a location. Washington native, avid hiker, and our friend Erika of The Greatest Adventure Weddings is designing their elopement. We had bounced a few location ideas off of each other but kept coming back to Artist Point and Picture Lake in North Cascades National Park. We had seen pictures of this picture perfect place, but figured it was about time to see it for ourselves.

With Mt Shuksan on one side and Mt Baker on the other, we were constantly picking our jaws up off the ground. An Artist Point elopement would be so epic I just want to marry Brandon all over again and do it there! The entire place will be covered in snow and is a popular snowshoe hike, so we had to keep that in mind as we were thinking about spots for our December elopement.
Picture Lake, just below Artist Point has stunning views of Mt. Shuksan and would also make for a great winter elopement. When I posted a picture of it on Instagram our bride and groom immediately texted us “?????????”. That was our answer, this is the spot! Can’t wait to see it covered in snow!
The Foxes are Brandon and Gabi Fox, an adventurous husband and wife elopement and wedding photography team living full-time in their DIY renovated 1972 Airstream. They are loosely based in the Pacific Northwest, but travel for work and play throughout the western states. Their work is best described as candid photography that captures couples as they are, where they are, blending images of love and natural beauty in the great outdoors.
