Five years ago Brandon and I left Colorado for the bustling city life of Boston. We met up with Brandon’s old college roommate, Brady, who introduced us to all his friends and then BAM! we had a core group of amazing people to share life with. Zach and Kimber were among this group. As the years passed, years filled with late night poker games, Archer episodes, live house shows, and delicious cheeses (thanks Linni), our core group of friends started spreading out. Some stayed in Boston, some moved to New York City, and some of us traveled the country in a van (or trailer). Both Brandon and I, and Zach and Kimber did the latter. Zach and Kimber bought and built out a van to be their mobile work and live space and they traveled the country in search for the right city to settle down it (they chose New York City). We had had a fun meet up with Zamber (yes, I went there) on the road in Georgia that instigated our urge to see all of our old Boston friends again, so when they announced their wedding date, we were beside ourselves with excitement.
Zach and Kimber’s wedding was unlike any other wedding we’ve ever been to. From the tasteful DIY decor to the delicious home cooked barbecue to the tasty craft beers to the serene Lake Taghkanic, everything was perfectly intimate. There were only twenty six guests, half of which were our friends, and every detail of this day spoke to their laid back personalities.
The night before the wedding, as the twenty six of us were either cooking pulled pork barbecue, building the table centerpieces, or playing “Dimensioneering” (guessing the length of objects in the room. Trust me, it’s amazing), we realized something very special. We were all there creating a party just for ourselves to celebrate our friend’s love. Every single guest was there contributing something to Zach and Kimber’s wedding so that we could all enjoy it together.
Zach, Kimber, your families, and all our friends – thank you so much for a beautiful weekend. You all made this wedding so fun to be a part of and congratulations Zach and Kimber! Can’t believe you two crazy cats are married and can’t wait to see you all again in a few weeks 😉
